Terms of Service

The rules for using Gmork, in plain words. Last updated October 9, 2026.

Who we are

Gmork (gmork.com) is run by UCPlaces (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, installing Gmork Scam Guard or paying for a plan, you agree to these terms. If you use Gmork for a company, you agree for that company.

What Gmork is

  • Gmork website monitoring checks the websites you add from the outside, the way a visitor or a search engine would: availability, speed, page changes, journeys, signs of a hack and security headers, with alerts and reports. It is not a vulnerability scanner or a security audit.
  • Gmork Scam Guard is a browser extension for Chrome and Edge that warns you about likely scams in emails, chats and web pages. Its optional AI check is off until you turn it on.
  • Free tools (the hacked check and the security headers checker) give a one-time result for a public web address.

Home use and business use

  • Free, Plus and Family are for personal, non-commercial use: you, your family and your household, on your own computers.
  • Business use needs a Workplace plan. Using Gmork Scam Guard in a business, a practice (for example a medical or dental office), a nonprofit office or any other commercial setting requires Workplace, whatever its size, including offices of 1 to 5 people. Free, Plus and Family are not licensed for that use.
  • Each Workplace seat covers one browser. Workplace has its own 14-day free trial, even if you already tried a home plan.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details safe and your email address current, because we send alerts and billing notices there. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite to your team.

Subscriptions, renewal and cancelling

  • Paid plans are subscriptions billed in US dollars, monthly or yearly, through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown on the pricing pages before you pay. Taxes may be added where the law requires.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Before a price change applies to you, we tell you by email.
  • You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan stays on until the end of the period you already paid for, then ends. When a Workplace plan ends, Gmork Scam Guard stops checking on the office computers. Website organizations move to the free Basic plan.
  • Refunds are at our discretion. If something went wrong, write to us and we’ll look at it fairly. Where the law gives you a right to a refund, that right applies.
  • If a payment fails, we may try again and, after a while, pause or downgrade the plan.

Founding member and trial offers

  • Founding members: this offer is closed to new sign-ups. If you already claimed it, you keep Gmork Scam Guard Plus free for your first year. If you add a card, it then renews at $25 a year for as long as you keep it without a break. If you don’t, it simply ends after the year.
  • Free trials: you can try Gmork Scam Guard Plus, Family or Workplace free for 14 days, no card needed. If you don’t add a card by the end of the trial, it ends, nothing is charged and the paid features stop. For Workplace, Gmork Scam Guard then stops checking on the office computers until you add a card. One home-plan trial and one Workplace trial per person and email address.
  • We may change or end these offers for new sign-ups at any time. That doesn’t take away an offer you already claimed. Website monitoring plans are not part of these offers.

Acceptable use

Use Gmork only for lawful purposes. In particular, you agree:

  • to add only websites you own or are authorized to monitor, and to verify them when we ask;
  • not to use Gmork to attack, overload or probe for weaknesses in sites you don’t control;
  • not to get around plan limits, rate limits or security measures, or resell Gmork without our written agreement;
  • not to copy, reverse engineer or misuse the service, the extension or their data;
  • not to use Gmork to harass anyone, or to store or send unlawful content.

We may limit, suspend or remove anything that breaks these rules.

What Gmork can’t promise

Gmork is a helpful second pair of eyes, not a guarantee. Gmork can miss scams, hacks, outages and other threats, and it can sometimes warn about something harmless. Always use your own judgment, and check with the real company or person through a phone number or address you already trust.

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it running, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, UCPlaces is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, or money lost to a scam or attack, even if Gmork didn’t warn you. Our total liability for any claim about Gmork is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is more. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.

Ending the service

You can stop using Gmork at any time: cancel your plan, delete your account or remove the extension. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering a paid service, we refund the unused part of your prepaid period. Parts of these terms that by their nature should last, such as the limits of liability, continue after that.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new date, and for important changes we’ll email account holders before they apply. If you keep using Gmork after a change applies, you accept the new terms. If you don’t agree, you can cancel.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the courts located there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
