AI check (optional, off by default)

Gmork's built-in rules always run first and work without AI. If you turn this on, Gmork also sends only the email you have open, with personal details removed, to the AI service below to judge urgency, secrecy, money requests and claimed family identity. Ask Gmork questions go there too.

Advanced: server address

Sender website check

When you open an email in Gmail or Outlook on the web, Gmork sends gmork.com the sender's domain name (for example, example.com) to check whether that website exists, forwards to a different site, or was registered recently. Only the domain is sent: never the email, its subject or text, its links, your address or the sender's name. It isn't sent for free email addresses (like gmail.com), well-known companies, sites on Gmork's verified list or senders you marked as trusted. Results are kept on this computer for 24 hours. With this off, Gmork sends no domains and skips these checks.

Anonymous counts

Once a day, Gmork tells gmork.com how many warnings it showed (by level and type) and how often you tapped Helpful or Annoying or changed what you were doing, with the Gmork version, language and plan. Never websites, senders, messages or anything you type. This helps us see which warnings work.

Read warnings aloud

Gmork can say red warnings out loud in the language you chose, using your computer's voice. Every warning card also has a Read aloud button. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Family alerts

A helper you trust (a son, daughter or friend) gets a short email when Gmork shows a red warning here or when you tell Gmork that money was sent, a password was typed or someone connected to your computer.

Sent to gmork.com for the email: the kind of alert, how serious it is, the website's name (you can turn this off), your language and the time. Never the message, the page, or anything you type. At most one alert of each kind per hour and 10 a day.

Strict mode with a PIN

For a helper setting Gmork up for someone else. While strict mode is on, red warnings can't be clicked away and settings can't be changed or protection paused without the PIN.

Strict mode is a speed bump, not a lock. Someone who knows how can still remove Gmork Scam Guard in chrome://extensions.
Use 4 to 8 digits. Don't use a birthday.
Forgot the PIN?

If a helper is set up for family alerts, Gmork can email them a link to approve a reset. Otherwise remove Gmork Scam Guard from chrome://extensions and install it again (your settings and warning history are lost).

Trusted sites

Gmork doesn't show the orange "Check the address before you type a password" and "Check before you pay" cards on these exact addresses. Red warnings (look-alike addresses, known phishing, gift card demands) still show.

Warning history

Only warnings are kept: when, how serious, the type, a short reason, the site's domain when it matters, and your response or rating. No messages, page text, full addresses, amounts or passwords.

Personal is for home use, with larger text and shorter warning cards. Workplace keeps the fuller detail for desks that see many messages a day (a clinic front desk, a small office), and needs a Workplace key to run.

Gmork's cards, menus and AI answers use this language. Scam checks always look for every supported language.
The floating badge and warning cards are this size on every website. Automatic is Medium for Personal and Small for Workplace.

What Gmork Scam Guard covers

Emails and chats: Gmail and Outlook on the web (including Spam and Junk Email), Messenger, WhatsApp Web and Google Voice. Gmork checks each email or chat you open. Everywhere else: links, sign-in and payment pages, and fake-support pages. Holding a sign-in only works on pages where Gmork's script runs, and not in other apps or browsers.
